The striker joined Spurs on a six-month deal from Everton in January.

Saha admitted boss Harry Redknapp has been a huge influence in his bid to stay.

And he said: “I cannot say I want to leave.

“Harry has been good for me personally. What makes him so good is his personality, tactics and the way that he can work and relate to the players.”

Juventus have given up on landing Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.

The Daily Mail says Van Persie’s future took another twist on Monday as Juventus prepared to pull out of the race to sign the Arsenal skipper.

The Holland striker has told the Gunners that he is not ready to sign a new deal as he looks to buy himself time before making a decision on his future.

Manchester City and Juve are the only two clubs who have shown a concrete interest in the 28-year-old.

But sources at the Serie A club claim they are now ready to look elsewhere in their search for a new big-name striker.

Juventus fear the striker has already privately agreed to sign for another club and do not want to concentrate their focuses solely on luring Van Persie.

Wolfsburg are chasing QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt.

The Daily Mail says the German side wanted the 22-year-old in January when he was valued at £8million.

But Taarabt has just a year left on his contract and they hope to sign him for £4.5m.

Manchester United have had an approach for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski rejected.

Suddeutsche Zeitung says both United and beaten Champions League finalists Bayern Munich have had offers for the Poland international turned down by Dortmund.

Both bids fell short of BVB’s valuation, with the German champions reluctant to lose the striker.

Lewandowski revealed last week the interest of United.

Real Madrid are ready to test Manchester City’s resolve for Sergio Aguero.

The Sunday Mirror says Real boss Jose Mourinho now wants to bring him to the Bernabeu. City signed Aguero for £35 million a year ago from Real’s rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Argentinian had been coveted by Real for some time – but Atletico were reluctant to deal directly with their bitter rivals from across the city.

City manager Roberto Mancini wants to bolster rather than weaken his squad but if Aguero wanted to return to Spain it might prove to be difficult to hang on to the front man.

Chelsea have confirmed that Didier Drogba will leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 34-year-old Ivory Coast international has spent eight years at Chelsea, scoring 157 goals in 341 appearances, and helped the Blues win 10 titles.

Drogba said on the club’s official website:” “I wanted to put an end to all the speculation and confirm that I am leaving Chelsea. ”

“It has been a very difficult decision for me to make and I am very proud of what we have achieved, but the time is right for a new challenge for me.

“As a team we have accomplished so much and have won every single trophy possible.

“Saturday was a very special moment for everyone at the club and for all the fans, and I am very proud to have played my part in bringing many trophies to this club, which has been my home for the last eight years.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the club especially [owner] Roman [Abramovich] and my team-mates, many of whom have become very close friends and will be my friends for life.

Chief executive Ron Gourlay paid tribute to “Chelsea legend” Drogba. He said: “Didier is certainly leaving on a high after Saturday night, but he feels the time is right for a new challenge.

“Of course Didier has contributed so much to all of Chelsea’s recent successes.

“He has been a consummate professional during his entire time here and as one of the natural leaders in our squad he has been an inspiration to a lot of our younger players.”

“We have known for some time that this outcome was likely, but Didier and the club only made a final decision on that in the last couple of days, because for obvious reasons neither Didier nor the club wanted to distract focus away from the Champions League final,” he said.

“The talks were amicable all the way through and we wish him all the best for the future. He is welcome back to Stamford Bridge at any time – either as a player or as a guest of ours.”

Barcelona ace Cesc Fabregas has paid tribute to Chelsea and the Premier League after the Blues’ Champions League triumph.

The former Arsenal captain says there is no bitterness on his part over Chelsea’s amazing victory.

He declared: “People say they did not deserve it but when it’s your year, it’s your year.

“It’s like when Andres Iniesta scored the goal against Chelsea in the last seconds at Stamford Bridge the year we won the treble.”

Fabregas also said Chelsea’s success highlighted the strength of the Premier League.

“Chelsea had some luck but all the teams that win it need that, and you can only congratulate them,” he added.

“It says a lot for the Premier League that they have five or six teams that can beat anyone in the world, and next year it will be even worse. It will be tough for the rest.”

Juan Mata says he’s delighted with his first season at Double winners Chelsea.

He told EFE that he is “very happy” at Chelsea and that “little by little the style of football is changing in England,” with the game becoming less physical.

He added: “In the Premier League more teams have a chance of winning the title. It is not like that in Spain where unless you play for Real Madrid or Barcelona it is pretty much impossible.”

Tottenham have upped their ante in the pursuit of Jan Vertonghen in the form of chairman Daniel Levy flying to Holland today to meet with Ajax officials.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the Belgian centre-back recently and it appears likely that they will get their man after Vertonghen stated the only club in England for him is Tottenham.

Levy has continued talks with the Dutch giants but it seems that the North London club are not keen to pay the reported £12million that Ajax want for Vertonghen’s services.

Talks involving the players agent Mustapha Nakhli are ongoing with a deal expected to be finalised as soon as an agreement can be made on the transfer fee.

Chelsea ace Frank Lampard says Didier Drogba was up there with the game’s greats after their Champions League final success.

Drogba was the matchwinner from the spot with what could be his final kick in a Chelsea shirt.

Lampard said: “People talk about whether this is his last game for Chelsea, but he has been an absolute hero for this club.

“People talk about (Thierry) Henry, (Wayne) Rooney, the great strikers, but he is right up there. People that score in finals and in the big games, he is right up there.”
