Mourinho Makes Bastian Schweinsteiger His No.1 Transfer Target

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has declared that he wants to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Spanish newspapers have reported that Mourinho has decided Schweini is “the man” to boss his midfield from next season and has given Real president Florentino Perez the green light to pursue the Germany World Cup ace.

Schweinsteiger is under contract until 2012. His salary is €3 million and the buyout clause is &euro55 million, a figure that Real will not pay.

However, Real are counting on a favour from Bayern after keeping the price down for the sale of Arjen Robben last year.

Should Schweini demand a move, Real will expect Bayern not to prove difficult in negotiations.
